Cervical cancer causes are of varied character and may not cause the same amount of impact on all the victims coming across them. Secondary form if cervical cancer is a kind of malignant growth that reaches cervix after being originated in some areas of the victim’s body. Such infected organs may be located nearby or remote to the cervical areas and the tumors reach the cervix through metastasis. Lymph nodes and blood cells are the main carriers of infected cells from one point to another and may increase the rate of metastasis to a considerable extent.
Cervical cancer causes can be different for different forms of cancer. Causes for primary cancer can be more direct and easily identifiable as compared to those causing secondary cancer of cervix. In secondary kind of cervix cancer, tumors are already developed in various areas of the body and reach the cervix after a certain stage. Such tumors usually metastasize to remote areas when a victim suffers from advanced stages and thus, it is necessary to trace the exact origin and spread of malignant lumps before undergoing cervical cancer treatment.

Main Cervical Cancer Causes
HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) is the most common and important cause of cervical cancer. Women who are used to unsafe sex or who undergo intercourse in very early age are highly prone to cancer of cervix. Females suffering from HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) or other sexually-transmitted diseases have high chances of suffering from cancer of cervix. Family history of cervical or other cancers can make a person prone to the disease. History of cancer treatments may also put a person at risk and increase the chances of recurrence of the disease.
Other main causes of cervical cancer include smoking, taking contraceptives without medical recommendation, irregularity in undergoing PAP ({Papanicolaou) smear test or ignorance to frequent infections in the vaginal areas can lead to cancer of cervix. Chlamydia infection is also another risk factor of cervix cancer.
